It seems like just about every contender has been connected to the Detroit Pistons for a possible Jerami Grant trade this offseason.
The Grant rumors have persisted since mid-season, and will continue until the Pistons either sign him to an extension or trade him away.
The consensus seems to be that it will be the latter, though there are several obstacles, including the fact that he is on an expiring deal and the Pistons’ reported asking price has been steep.
Portland has been the main team associated with Grant, but there are other teams interested and the Pistons could have a bidding war on their hands if they play it right.
One new team is reportedly in the mix, but do they have what it takes to trade for Jerami Grant?
Detroit Pistons: Jerami Grant and the Miami Heat
The Miami Heat are the most recent team attached the Detroit Pistons, though this may be more fan chatter than realistic possibility.
The “news” came from one Heat “insider” and builds off an idea that was first suggested by Greg Schwartz of Bleacher Report back in May.
This article also had the Pistons trading for Gary Trent Jr. and Ben Simmons, so I’d take it with a grain of salt the size of Mt. Everest.
But if you are just looking at fit, Jerami Grant would be a fit on the Heat, as he would give them an even better defense and a starting five that could pretty much switch on everyone in the league.
This is true of just about every contender though, as Jerami Grant is the type of versatile two-way wing that every team needs.
But do the Heat even have the assets to trade for Grant? I have seen two suggested trades and neither of them are that appealing.
